1. The short version

Frostcue is a planting calendar. It shows frost dates and planting windows for the place you choose, from data that is bundled inside the app.
There is no account and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number, contacts or photos.
The app does not use your device's location. You type a U.S. ZIP code, or pick a province and district in Turkey. That choice is saved only on your device.
Your settings, saved plants and reminders stay on your device. We run no server that receives them.
The free version shows banner ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect some device data to show and measure those ads (section 5).
Reminders are optional. They are created on your phone and shown by your phone (section 4).
If you buy Pro, the app no longer requests or shows ads.
The app has no analytics or crash-reporting service of its own.

2. Information stored only on your device

The app saves the following on your device so it works between sessions. It is not sent to us.

Scheduled reminders are also held by your phone's operating system until they are shown.

You can delete all of this at any time by deleting the app or by clearing the app's data in your device settings. If you use your phone's backup (for example Google backup or iCloud), your phone may copy this data into your own backup; that is controlled by your device settings, not by us.

3. Your place

Frostcue never asks for location permission and never reads your GPS position. The ZIP code or district you enter is used only inside the app, to look up values in the data that ships with it. It is not added to ad requests and is not sent to us or to anyone else by the app's own code.

Note: when the Google ad service is contacted, Google receives the device's IP address, and Google may use it to estimate the general location of the device (section 5). That is separate from the place you choose in the app.

4. Reminders (notifications)

Reminders are off until you turn them on. The app asks for permission to send notifications only after you turn a reminder on and have read the app's own explanation.
Reminders are scheduled and shown on your phone. They need no internet connection, no account and no server. They are made from the plants you saved and the dates for your place.
On Android, the app declares permission to show notifications (Android 13 and later asks you) and to set reminders again after your phone restarts. It does not use exact alarms, so a reminder can arrive a few minutes late.
You can turn reminders off in the app, or turn off notifications for the app in your phone's settings, at any time.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows a banner ad under the main screens. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. Pro removes the banner.

What Google may collect. According to Google's own disclosures for its Mobile Ads SDK, when ads are requested the SDK may collect and share:

your IP address, which may be used to estimate the general location of your device;
device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID on Android, or the advertising identifier (IDFA, only if you allow tracking) and other app- or developer-scoped identifiers on iOS;
information about how you interact with the app and with ads (for example app launches, taps and ads viewed);
diagnostic and performance information (for example launch time, hang rate, crash logs).

Google uses this information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Data is encrypted in transit. On Android, Google's ad software may also use the Android ad services (Topics and attribution measurement) on devices that support them.

What we do not send. The app adds no personal information of its own to ad requests. We do not send your ZIP code, district, saved plants, reminders or settings to Google.

Consent and choices.

In regions where the law requires it (for example the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app shows Google's consent form before any ad is requested.
If a privacy choices form applies to you, you can open it again at any time in Settings > Ad privacy choices.
iPhone and iPad: the app asks, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether it may use your device's advertising identifier so that ads can be more relevant to you. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", or do not answer, the advertising identifier is not used. The app works the same either way. You can change this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads, or Settings > Google > Ads, depending on the device).
Buying Pro stops ad requests from the app.

6. Purchases

Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment is processed by Apple or Google under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not receive your payment card details. The app receives confirmation of the purchase from the store and saves on your device only whether Pro is owned. There is no subscription.

7. Links that open outside the app

Some rows (this privacy policy, the data sources, the USDA plant hardiness zone page, the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM) frost page, and the support e-mail) open your browser or mail app. Those sites and apps have their own privacy practices. Opening a link shares nothing from the app except the address you are opening.

8. Children

Frostcue is a general-audience gardening tool. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us at okant@prondi.com.

9. Retention and deletion

We keep no user data on our own servers. Information on your device stays until you delete the app or clear its data. Information collected by Google is kept and handled under Google's privacy policy; use the controls in section 5 to manage it. To ask us anything about your data, write to okant@prondi.com.

10. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it ourselves. The only third parties that receive data from the app are Google, through the advertising and consent services in section 5, and Apple or Google when you make a purchase (section 6).

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to or restrict its use. Because we hold no personal information about you on our servers, most requests are met by deleting the app or its data and by using Google's controls in section 5. 12. Security

Your data stays on your device and is protected by your device's own security. Communication between the ad service and Google uses encrypted connections.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at https://tezkorkmaz-passive-income.github.io/frostcue-legal/privacy.html. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
